Welcome, Bears N Stitches is operated by me, Lorraine McLeod, in Newcastle NSW Australia. I make Teddies to suit personalities, families, and friends, in fact my own family & friends have been the models for many of my bears!

A bit about Me and my bears. I have a love for Teddies (and other stuffed creatures), and have developed a passion for designing and making my own bears. I have several years experience now in designing and making my own bears, and enjoy experimenting with different styles and processes such as dying mohair fur and jointing methods.

My bears are full of colour & attitude! They are NOT traditional, sweet teddy bears. But they are always a well behaved & welcome addition to any hug!

Lately I have been using hand dyed threads from The Dye Shop to embroider their noses!

This started as an interest but has gradually built to the stage where my home has been overrun by small furry bears, and alas
if I am going to keep making them, homes have to be found for
the new arrivals.

Bear Creations Magazine - my profile was featured in Australian Bear Creations - Vol 11 No 5 with a give away bear "Spring" in the same issue.

Christopher - As he appears in the magazine. He has been made from hand dyed Alpaca fur fabric, hand dyed paw pad fabric & has handpainted eyes.
